About HEART & MUSIC

Inspired by a song of the same name from William Finn’s musical “A New Brain", HEART & MUSIC is dedicated to raising money to support innovative ovarian cancer research. Net proceeds from this event will benefit the TEAL HEART Scholarship Fund at Ovarian Cancer Canada established by Dr. Darrin Bast as a tribute to his mother, Jackie. Diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2007, she is still with us today because of scientific advancements made each year in the areas of prevention, early detection and treatment.

HEART & MUSIC is a large event and as such, requires a lot of dedicated people, to make it work. It is these people, the organizing committee, who volunteer their time and expertise that ensure the event's success.

For general enquires or sponsorship details, please email info@heartandmusic.com or call Darrin at (416) 427-6767.

Ovarian Cancer Canada is registered Canadian charitable organization. Charitable Registration Number 87297 4845 RR0001.

A New Brain

'A New Brain' is a musical with music and lyrics by William Finn.

Finn wrote many of the songs soon after his release from the hospital.
